Jalon Daniels Credit: Buccaneers With the Bucs’ first victory of this quickly-moving 2026 season, there have been plenty of overreactions. “Jalon Daniels is the future!” “Zac Robinson is actually a good offensive coordinator!” “Todd Bowles should keep his job!” Ok, maybe that last one is a phrase no one has uttered all season, and the second is just as much of an overreaction as the first, but that first claim is the most interesting. Daniels, 23, struggled in his first career start in the NFL, when the Bucs fell to the Green Bay Packers last Sunday. Watching from the sideline that game was Baker Mayfield, who injured his thumb in the Bucs’ previous game.
