Too Cold to Tango is a magical record, especially for fans of The Cramps, Big Star and even Sam The Sham. Alcala has had a positive recovery, too. “In so many ways, he honestly feels better than he has in years, which has been both surprising and such a huge relief. Looking back, it’s clear the tumor was causing a lot more suffering than we understood at the time, and there’s a deep gratitude in our home for the second chance he’s been given,” a GoFundMe update from last January said. The Miami garage-rock favorite is back in Ybor City this weekend, with Alcala in the lineup, and playing a club that’s keeping indie live music alive in Ybor City.
